Harvest in this context is the gathering of results. If a farmer is talking about harvest, it means he has been involved in some planting or sowing and a time could come when he begins to gather the result of that labour.
Harvest represents the gathering of what has been sown whether in life or in ministry. It means that without labor or someone laboring in planting or sowing, harvesting cannot take place.
There are two major areas of harvest:
Kingdom Harvest
Physical or Personal harvest
It is not enough to shout or scream that this year is a massive year, a year of massive harvest, you should be ready to deliberately invest and sow so that when men are harvesting, you will also be a partaker.
Also when it comes to career,personal life, finance, if you don’t understand that there is a need to put in the work, then harvest will be a mirage. If you are not willing, ready and deliberate to put in the labour, then harvest won’t happen.
The proof to believe that there is a massive harvest to come is that you roll up your sleeves and go to work.
Pastor has said over time that the new year does not change anything. Things don’t change automatically because it is the new year. If there will be new things in our life in this new year, we should decide to be deliberate and intentional to labour ahead of the harvest that the lord is promising us.
After we have prayed and fasted, we need to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Prophecy does not come to pass on their own. Even after God has spoken and released his word, God will be expecting us to put in the work.
There is no result without labour. The reason why you should be expecting results is because you have put in the work after you have prayed and fasted and after prophecy has gone ahead.
Even after having faith in prophecies, you still need to put in the work. God’s word has gone ahead of us and our duty is to run with the word of God. If you don’t run with God’s word, you may not have results to gather.
Harvest is the promise of God. Harvest is the fulfillment of the prophecies of God.
Definition of Harvest
Harvest is the gathering of results. It represents the gathering of what has been sown whether in life, ministry, career.
Harvest connotes a season of abundance, increase, enlargement and a season of the fulfillment of God’s promises and prophecies.
Massive Harvest requires clarity and understanding to be able to capture all that the father has for us.
Harvest is the Manifestations of God’s work. It symbolizes the visible outcomes of God’s work in and through believers.
Kingdom Harvest will now connote souls that are saved, disciples that are made and kingdom manifested.
If you go bear fruit and your fruit did not abide, you have not harvested a soul.
Physical or personal Harvest connotes personal breakthroughs, provisions,increase, enlargements, blessings in various areas of our lives. It will amount to progress in different areas of our lives. It means expansion, God helping you to move from one spot to the other. God shows up for you in different areas of life.
The definition of harvest cuts across two directions as explained and one is the major which is the kingdom and because God does not use men and abandon them (Matt 6:33). If God will want us to pursue kingdom harvest, as we pursue, he will also add to my life.
While kingdom harvest is the primary, our personal harvest should also be included.
We need to begin to understand that God expects us to put in the work. We need to have a proper understanding of what we are studying. So that we don’t miss out on the salient points. This kind of harvest is an overwhelming harvest. As powerful as it is, there is a need for us to put in the work. Kingdom harvest will mean souls saved and discipled, then the kingdom of God manifested. The work of God is prospering in our hands as the will of God is not farfetched or complex. That men are saved and they come to the knowledge of the truth.
That God’s kingdom begins to manifest will mean, righteousness manifesting and the Glory of God displayed, needs met, burdens lifted. Those who can’t do or work miracles start doing them.
Those who can’t stay in the place of prayer begin to enjoy the sweet aura of prayer. A season where men enjoy the sweet intimacy of God. That is kingdom harvest. Where men who do not have a heart for the kingdom begin to thirst to be involved.
..just as Matthew 6:33 states. Seek first the kingdom of God.
Such an interest makes God shift focus on you as you make his kingdom a priority. As you engage and prosper in the Kingdom of God and it prospers, you also prosper.
It looks as if we put more energy in fasting and praying and less energy in working. If we pray for harvest without the work, it is a mirage. We should strive to be equipped for the harvest.
By understanding harvest, it connotes gathering of results. It represents the gathering of what has been sown. If we don’t plant and we go to harvest that is stealing in agriculture.
Prophecy has gone ahead of us, God’s intentions have been declared but it is required for us to put in the work. It looks as if the church goes to sleep, and never puts in the work.
We can’t talk about harvest and not address Kingdom harvest as well as personal harvest. It should also be included.
It is for us to do the work. It is important that we succeed in the primary which is kingdom harvest. It will be imbalanced if you go all out for souls and your life doesn’t reflect it. If we advance in kingdom harvest, we should also advance ourselves.
While heaven will not ask how we fared in our career or how many houses we built., we will give account for how many souls we harvested.
The conversation when we meet with the Lord will not be our achievements but what we did with the grace upon our lives.
As the year unfolds, we may get distracted with earnings, goals and so on but as we do that, can we maintain that vision for the Kingdom?
What we are engaged in for livelihood will not be an excuse. We should major in the major and minor in the minor. While we want the increase and enlargement it should not take us away from God. If you prayed for advancement and it came, it is because our father answers but expect that you will be so busy afterwards to keep up.
In the midst of all, be determined not to forget what is important. If your life is given to God, whatever increase or expansion you find it should find you in God and not take you away. Such an advancement shouldn’t take God out of your schedule. It should fit into your structure instead. Don’t let the job you have steal your calling and ministry.
You have not arrived in the kingdom until you have actually run with God’s agenda rather than your own agenda.
Get to that point where you hold a high position in the society and yet you do not leave your place of assignment in ministry.
Have you ever trusted God for a lifting or asked him for a multiplication, that he enlarges your sphere of influence.?
Many, because of what they have in their pocket now, no longer regard church meetings. They go all the way to using their phones during church meetings.
Many of us grew up with strict training in church and in our Christian homes. Most of what we learned from our parents were modelled to us but we are beginning to slack on them.
Can we arise and trust the Lord. Maintain the desire from the father. There is something the father is looking forward to.
Angels don’t preach it’s men who do, so we must be out for that assignment.
We intercede and we go. The holy Ghost takes from what is in our mouth and he takes over. He melts the hearts of stone.
There is a work of the holy Ghost that makes a tough criminal to bow. That is why we need to stand up from our secret place and go to the streets and release the counsel of the Lord.
There is a harvest the Lord has promised us and there is a need to put in the work.
What are you trusting God for? Kingdom harvest or personal harvest.
There are businesses and families that will not remain the same again but when that harvest comes, are we sure we would remember that God brought us there. I hope the job and promotion will not be an excuse.
Prayers have been made and our heart is expecting that the breakthrough will not make us forget where we are coming from.
We pray and are believing in God for supernatural intervention. If the vision and goals come to reality, would we still maintain our humility, or make men serve us like their Lords?
As we pray for enlargement, we also pray to God to help us. To keep us under submission. We have to model faith to the next generation.
There are things we pass down to our children. If we haven’t passed down faith, we passed down nothing.
“One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.”
Psalm 145:4
Some of us pay attention to what would not last especially with upbringing. Faith legacy should not be taken for granted. If you will harvest for the kingdom, let it be from your home first. Start with your children.
We should be in charge. We can’t continue doing life the same way and expect the same result.
John 4:35-36
We are in a new season. A new season is graciously and evidently upon us. It is what God is doing.
God is doing a new work in the midst of his people. It’s a global work. Men are waking from their sleep and slumber. They are partnering with the kingdom. Jesus spoke to his disciples about this harvest.
The hearts of men are opening. Men are just required to put in the sickle. The harvest is now. It is not far.
God is sending us out as harvesters. Some men have gone ahead of us to prepare the ground for the harvest let’s put in the required work.
