We are trusting the lord that we pray-through this season because when we pray-through, we break through. There is no breakthrough in sight if men cannot pray-through.
Philippians 4:4-7 KJV “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
The focus of Rejoicing is in the lord and we choose to rejoice in the lord regardless of what the situation or circumstance is.
The only way we can rejoice always is to rejoice in what is constant, every other thing is variable. The one constant factor in our life is God.
The only way a man can be anxious for nothing is when his rejoicing is constant. What brings anxiety might be variable.
We can’t maintain a posture of continuous prayer, if we have not understood the concept of rejoicing and thanksgiving. The devil will discourage us and make us see the big mountains and not see the Big God.
Faith is not a denial of the realities of life but what faith does is that regardless of our reality, regardless of what is the true position of things in the physical, we will put our gaze, focus and trust on God. And we will choose to rejoice in the Lord.
As we put our trust or gaze on the Lord, then the peace of God that is beyond human comprehension, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
The only way we can have peace in trouble is when we are rejoicing in the Lord. As we maintain the posture of rejoicing, something is taking place on our inside and that is the peace of God. It is the peace of God that can make we to make our request made known unto God
Because sometimes, what people do when they say they are praying is complaining, worrying. And we cannot be praying and worrying, vice versa. It is not possible.
Rejoicing brings us to a place of peace, a place where our mind cannot comprehend why we are calm and have the assurance that God is able to do it.
We need the peace of God in the place of prayer if not all we will do in the place of prayer is complaining and murmuring. And we can be complaining and murmuring and we think we are praying.
We can only keep praying. The only thing we can do to break through is by rejoicing.
Rejoicing is a choice.
Habakkuk 3:17-19 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
The scripture is consistent. Paul said rejoice in the Lord. To breakthrough there is a need for rejoicing. The devil will bring his scorecard. We must never murmur, even though we have worked from January to December and don’t have what to show.
The whole essence of the new year is a time to relax and get in view what should be done. The only way is to stay focused and this is because too much has come our way and if we think about them we may get discouraged.
The scripture is consistent. We cannot rejoice in emptiness. For breakthroughs, there is a need for rejoicing.
What we need to improve on is to pray. However, the devil does not want us to break forth. The solution is to rejoice.
The simple way to explain how not to be anxious.
Worrying and being anxious mean postponing the blessing and miracles. When we worry, we are still saying our hands are still involved.
This was why Paul said that the peace of God will transcend our hearts.
Jesus said worrying will not add a cubic to our height. Nothing can change with worrying. The devil does not want us to pray to God. The Bible says to God that answer prayer of all flesh. This is why we must know that the devil is in the business of sponsoring anxiety and worry.
Matthew 6:27-28 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
The devil will come and talk to our mind to begin to say those things we are yet to achieve.
As we are praying we cannot be worrying. We cannot be praying and anxious. It is either we are praying or we are anxious. The two do not go together. The best thing to walk in that prayer is to rejoice in the Lord.
Worry does not fix anything. The only thing that fixes worry is the Lord. The only thing that stops worrying is praying. The devil does not want us to do that.
There are typical examples of people that pray.
Psalms 100:1-5 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
When we want to get into prayer we come to him with a rejoicing heart. As we are coming to Him we must have that assurance that He is the one that has power. He has the ability to change things.
When we come to the Lord, we should come with gladness of heart with singing, with the assurance that he is the one who has the ability to fix things and he is responsible for us. In Isaiah 46:4, God assures us of his commitment to us from the womb to the tomb, so he is not just a maker but a sustainer. God cannot abandon us.
In Psalm 100:3, we see the need to come to God with the assurance that he is God. That assurance is also enhanced by the peace of God in your heart that even in the midst of troubles and challenges, you choose to rejoice.
If you don’t rejoice, you won’t be able to pray because of the burden in your heart. When Jesus was about to go to the cross, he took some people with him to pray and the bible recorded that Jesus departed from their midst to pray. When he returned, he met them sleeping for sorrow. They were exhausted from sorrow so they could not pray. Jesus who was to be crucified was able to pray while the disciples who went with him could not pray because their hearts were full of sorrow.
The only way you can breakthrough is to drop your weight and burden at the feet of God and rejoice. If Jesus could carry the weight of the world on his shoulders, he can carry your burdens.
You need to rejoice knowing this truth. Rejoice in the constant while the variable is being fixed. Troubles and challenges are prevalent, but worry and anxiety does not change the situation.
The more you focus on the challenges, the more your anxiety increases. That is the deception of the devil. The key is to keep rejoicing, even though the problem is still persistent but the fact that you are guiding yourselves with the peace of God that passes all understanding is more than enough.
There are examples of people in the Bible who had challenges but rejoiced regardless.
One of such examples is Paul and Silas who rejoiced even in prison at midnight in Acts 16:16-40.
Midnight connotes a dark season, a season of questions and no answer. Nobody actually sings in the night unless God gives them a song. The foundation of the prison shook and the prison door opened. Midnight season is not a time to worry and have sleepless nights but a time to rejoice in the Lord.
He will give you a song in your heart that will result in a breakthrough.
Don’t be too bothered about breakthroughs, rather pay more attention to pray-through.
The only way to pray through is to receive a burden to pray through the spirit of God and you pick up the peace of God and rejoice. With this he exchanges your joy
Someone needs a song in this night season.
Not everyone sings at midnight or survives the night season. It is only the man who has chosen to receive the peace of God and rejoice. It is your spirit man who captures what God is saying at the moment.
Peter slept between the soldiers knowing that he would be prosecuted the next morning. This shows an attitude…who sleeps in chaos? A man who has exchanged his sorrows for the Joy the Lord gives.
This paved the way for the supernatural. Peter rejoiced in the place of difficulty. We can not pray through any tough season except we choose to rejoice in the Lord.
