THE NIGHT IS COMING

Romans 12:11 NKJV “not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.”

One of the godly motivation that will keep us fervent till Jesus will come we have talked about is the fact that we will stand before Jesus.

2 Timothy 4 from verse 1 we saw clearly that we will be standing at his appearance and at his kingdom, and that we should preach the word, instant in season and out of season.

The correlation between “we will be standing before Jesus” and “be instant in season and out of season” is that since we will be standing before Jesus at his appearance and at his kingdom, the business that will take place at the appearance of Jesus for believers is stewardship, accountability.

At the judgement sit of Christ the issue will be to give account of what you have done while you are here and the grace of God that he has blessed you with.

Another godly motivation why we should remain fervent, consistently forever is that when we remember what the lord has done for us, that he went to the cross and die for us. Remembering his sacrifices, what he has to go through on the cross for us.

1 Corinthians 15:1- 10

When you remember you will stand before Jesus, it should motivate you to keep doing what he has called you to do. When you also remember him on the cross that he died for us, that he lay down his life for us should also motivate us to remain fervent.

The grace of God upon your life, the grace of God that you have received is the product of his death, it came out from death. His life is life from death and it is Grace from the grave.

This grace was produced by the life of a man that lay down for us all. That should be a motivation for serving the lord fervently.

Labouring fervently means that anytime you are feeling discouraged, lay back, his coming and his death should give you life to go after souls.

Nothing could keep Jesus on the cross, not the soldiers, not the nail. Jesus told them that it is the hour of darkness. If it was not the time for Jesus to go, they couldn’t have arrested him.

When we remember that he died, and from the grave he poured his grace on us, that Grace we have received must not be in vain, so we must labour more abundantly.

Fervency forever can be achieved when you keep your gaze on the sacrifice of Jesus and that he poured Grace on you and that grace must not be in vain. So what that should bring out of you is fervency.

John 9:1- 4

Another motivation for fervency forever is that Night is coming.

When you remember that you will stand before Jesus, it should bring fervency out of you. When you remember his death and the grace he poured upon you, this grace must not be wasted, it must not be in vain. It should produce fervency. Paul speaking in scriptures said “I receive grace so I labour more abundantly.” Jesus knew that the night is coming.

In Bible days, the disciples saw a blind man and asked Jesus, “who sinned? Is it the father or the mother?” Jesus replied and told them, “none” but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. In the next verse, Jesus said, “I must work the work of him that sent me while it is yet day.”

So what’s the correlation? Jesus was looking for an opportunity to manifest the works that he was sent to do. He was constantly on a look out for an occasion to carry out the work of God.

One of the godly motivations of fervency forever should be that when you remember that night is coming, you should jump up and work. You will not be this energetic forever and full of life. If you understand this, it should be a motivation to carry out the work of God with haste.

There are 3 seasons of a man’s life, the morning season, afternoon and night season. It’s time to run with the passion of God because night is coming when no man can work. You need to understand this, so that you  can maximize your morning and afternoon season. The afternoon season is the peak season of performance. Some people postpone a lot of the things with the excuse that, they are still young. This is a distraction from the pit of hell.

If you have a beautiful memory of your afternoon season in your night season, how you maximized your youthfulness for God, it brings satisfaction.

The fact that night is coming should bring a holy fear. The passion that Jesus had could be traced to the fact that he knew his days on earth are not forever. A time should come in your life where you prioritize good life over long life. If you are not channeling your efforts accordingly then you are not doing well.

John 21:17

Jesus said to Peter; feed my lamb, feed my sheep. He laid emphasis on these statements because he wanted him to see that there will be a time when he would not have the capacity to do the work..

John 21:17  He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep (KJV).

‎What is the correlation between the question He asked Peter if he loved Him and concerning him being carried to the place he would not have desired?

So, He was telling Him that he will not be young forever.

John 21:18  Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not (KJV).

‎You will not have that strength at your disposal forever. You will not have that strength. Your response, network, passion and strength on the table will not be forever. When you are young you have it but the night is coming when you will not have it.

Jesus told Peter to feed His lamb. This suggests that fervency should be motivated.

‎The remembrance that night is coming should bring fervency. When you are told to be calm about it you should be able to tell people there will not be time to do what you are doing while young.

‎The night is coming. We would all stand before Jesus. Night is coming when no man can work. This does not mean that he cannot but does not have the strength. When a man at an old age believes the gospel and becomes passionate and zealous concerning it, but may not have the strength to go about doing that energetically.

‎Jesus said Peter is young and can organize a crusade and outreach when is young but a day is coming where he would be carried to where he does not feel like going. This is why as a believer and who is still energetic, you will must always know that night is coming when you will not be able to work. This is why you must plan your life correctly when you are young and not when you are old. Ministry-wise, night is coming. You have the opportunity now to serve the Lord, yet you are complaining. Do you know that, you will never be less busy, except you are praying for backwardness. What you are currently doing now cannot be compared to what is coming your way. There are abundance in your way.

‎If there are excuses in the little you are doing, how are you going to deal with working for the Lord when He brings so much abundance in your way?

‎‎If the only reason for excuses and lackadaisical attitude is because of the little in your hands, how much more when bigger things come your way? ‎Jesus said, if you are faithful in little much more will be given. ‎It is expected for a steward to be found faithful.

Luke 16:10-12  He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?(KJV).

‎I will emphasize that your prayer should be that your hearts will be kept when you begin to see liftings and have abundance so that you will have time for the Lord.

‎Also, our prayer should be that He will not regret for blessing us. A look at Jeshurun concerning this in Deuteronomy says this.

Deuteronomy 32:15  But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation (KJV).

‎If the things that bring reverence to your heart does not bring reverence again because of the increase, blessing and the liftings of the Lord, you will start giving excuses. You should always remind yourself that you will not be this young forever. If there is anything you have to do, do it now. If you have the ability to control your sphere of influence that nothing can move you out of your devotion and commitment to ministry it is premium.

Don’t let anything be primary than the passion for the kingdom. Other things can be secondary while you also don’t embrace mediocrity.

Solomon showed us that a season will come when we would question all we laboured for and see that none has eternal significance.

Ecclesiastes 12:1-8

This scripture also tells us that a time will come where we see the things we once had pleasure in and begin to detest them., a season of his life will come when he cannot do as much as he could during his youthful days.

Notwithstanding, there are good vanities you can maximize to advance the kingdom of God, if you use them well. You will not end up saying they are vanities if it was judiciously harnessed for the kingdom.

There is a need for you to place a priority on what is of eternal value. If it requires you to structure your life to ensure you run according to the requirements of God. See that all your pursuits do not take you away from God’s purpose but bring you closer. The night is coming where you can’t do much, use your day optimally.
