ENCOUNTERS WITH JESUS PT-9

Matthew 14:22- 33

The scriptures didn’t give details of how  Jesus and Peter got back to the ship but one thing is sure,  Jesus didn’t carry him. The best-case scenario would have been for Jesus to hold Peter’s hands and walk back together. He has what it takes to walk on water.

It wasn’t only Peter that was in the ship, there were others in the ship. If you fail to take the Lord’s word seriously, you will not fully see God’s possibilities. You will limit your experience. As far as we know, Peter walked on water; none of the other disciples did; it was an experience he will never forget.

Some of these experiences were documented to show you things that were possible with God. Things that will bring you to the place of knowing that there are possibilities in God, things men experienced with Jesus.

Ours might not be walking on water as in physical water but almost everyone needs to walk on waters in different areas of life. Water depicts challenges of our life and storms of life.

“When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19b)

You have what it takes both in and with God, to walk on water. You have what it takes to be in charge of that situation. You have what it takes to go through life victoriously.

Peter merely needed to believe what Jesus said: “Come.”

That “come” included the ability and capacity to build a bridge over the water. When Peter received the word “come,” he did not hear it alone; everyone heard it, but only Peter caught it. He didn’t just hear “come”; he saw possibilities. He wasn’t analyzing the water or thinking about sinking, so he stepped out.

You can walk upon waters; you can walk upon the challenges of life. What will dare you to take a bold step and trust God and step out on the issues of life is a personal revelation. Many people have been too hesitant to take the brave measures necessary to pursue God’s calling in their lives. All that is required to step into the next phase of your life is a word from God. The Word of God will serve as the foundation for your supernatural boldness. Where others see water, you see bridges; where they see impossibilities, you see opportunities. The disciples were all on the same ship, but they had different experiences with the Lord. The word was the same, but each listener heard and saw it differently. Peter did not only hear “Come”; he saw himself walking. He didn’t recognize the impossibilities inherent in his aims.

There is a need for the word of the Lord to come to you individually. It could be basic texts that you’ve read numerous times, yet one day the scripture will take on a new significance for you, serving as the foundation for your decisions and next steps in life.

Peter watched Jesus walk on water and said, “If you can walk on water, I can walk on water; therefore, bid me to come,” to which Jesus replied, “Come.” And Peter stepped out with the command “Come.”. Water became a bridge on “come”. The disciples witnessed Peter walking on water. Your personal revelation becomes your revelation, and others can operate with it. Your boldness is rooted in what you know or what you have heard. You can’t run through what gives others boldness or courage to do the things they do.

You need to be able to find your word. You must understand God’s revelation or instructions for you as an individual. Based on that, it serves as the foundation for the next chapter of your life. That foundation will carry you for a long time, and you must maintain your attention on it because the only problem Peter had was that the “come” that lured him out of the ship—he met the “come,” and according to the Bible, as soon as he saw the wind, he began sinking.

The storm had begun before Peter got outside. However, the fact that Peter didn’t notice the wind indicates that he was not paying attention to the storm. His concentration was focused on the word “come.” When you step out of faith, a storm will come. It is not enough to believe in “come”; you must also focus on “come.”

Peter’s only duty was to keep focused on the “come” and on the person who invited him to come. As long as this understanding is maintained, Peter will continue to walk on water. Some of us lack the courage to pursue God’s plan and agenda for our lives. There is one experience/encounter that has the potential to permanently silence your faith. There is a word that can come to you that will put an end to all of your worries and fears, and you will set your feet out and step into God’s agenda for your life.

For some of us, we’ve stayed too long in one place, played too small, and avoided facing the realities of what God intends for us.

It is time to step and walk on water. For some of us, the breakthrough is not where we are, but on the waters.

All we have to do is step out and believe in God and his words/instructions that come to us on a constant basis; otherwise, we risk missing out on all that God has for us.

You must get to a point where your fears can be muted and your concerns can be addressed, a point when you can fully rely on God. A place where we can lay all of our concerns at the feet of the Lord. Many things will be far-reaching for a guy who has yet to come to accept God for who he is. They’ll seem and sound like impossible tasks.

Consider the account of the Centurion man who had a sick kid and told Jesus, “I am not worthy for you to enter my house.” He told Jesus to say just one word, and the boy was healed. Jesus was amazed, saying, “I have not seen this kind of faith in all of Israel.” The man believed that Jesus’ bodily presence was unnecessary for his son’s healing; all he needed was the spoken word.

There is a currency stronger than the naira, pound, and dollar. The hand of God on a man is a game changer; it alters the course of his life. The inclusion of God in a man’s story alters the outcome. You are capable of doing the seemingly impossible.

You can have all your heart desires in God. You can walk on water and weather the storms of life. When a man falls under the intensity of God’s hand and there is clarity about God’s purposes and purpose, as well as where God is leading him, he is not expected to be normal or understood by others.

When Peter was laboring to catch fish in the river and Jesus told him to toss the net, the fish started to organize themselves. They were able to catch an abundance of fish. These are the experiences that men had with Jesus. Jesus was simply teaching yet power manifested.

As we learn doctrines and  teachings, our hearts should also be open to the possibilities in God.

Never get to the point of invalidating God’s possibilities. It is his prerogative. You cannot be an excellent learner of God’s word and be powerless.

Inasmuch as He did not die for our material possessions. We must also be open to the possibility of provision. It is His doings and prerogative. Don’t be a powerless student who has nothing to prove. We must be constantly learning and open to experience healing in our body as well as financial stability in our pockets. We must be open to Him raising men and stir their hearts for our sakes.

‎As we are receptive to the gospel of His truth, seeing and learning everything that is accessible in Christ, we must not believe that knowledge will eliminate God’s potential.

We will not name our meetings “anointing services,” but we will experience His power in all of our services. We must understand that He has the ability to touch our bodies and heal us. As we are open to hearing God’s word. We must be open to receive power and not close so that God may touch our bodies. We should cease claiming that Jesus came simply to save. That is truly the major assignment. However, He continues to set the captives free as part of His job. The primary focus is on salvation. He cures the body. He spreads delight. He aids men. He stabilizes men. He provides fulfillment into men’s lives. He liberates men.

‎Salvation is the core. He heals the body. He brings joy. He helps men. He stabilizes men. He brings fulfilment to the life of men. He liberates men. Do not be overzealous for revelation and not be open to the tangibility of His power.

‎This is an error in our day. We must have a keen focus on Jesus. Learn everything you can from Christ. Some came to the conclusion that there would be no more miracles, and they all ended with the apostles’ days. They stated that all that matters is the revelation. We must never engage in such philosophies. We must desire the Father’s touch. God’s healing power was present while He taught.

We are rescued so that we can meet and dwell with the Lord for eternity. Even if righteousness has been charged to our account, we can depart this world broken, unhappy, sick, and bursted without encountering God’s power.

We are not going to get more righteous. A decent person may understand this reality, but he remains beggarly, destitute, and bursted. He is also sad, but righteous and full of revelation.

We would all be willing to discover the truth about Jesus, but He must touch us. He is concerned about our welfare. He does not simply want us to enjoy spiritual blessings in all heavenly places. Despite all of this, we may still be in need. However, there is one aspect of God’s wisdom that will come to us and aid in simplifying our journey.

If we want to advance God’s mission on this globe, we must also advance our own lives. We’re seated in Christ. We are His body. We are seated together.

Ephesians 1:3-8  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;(KJV).

Jesus gathered the multitude and taught them. He did not let them go back home hungry. He did not just teach. He has all it takes to make the supernatural providence.

He inquired about how they may be fed to strengthen their faith.

John 6:5-6

When Jesus looked out and saw that a large crowd had arrived, he said to Philip, “Where can we buy bread to feed these people?” He said this to stretch Philip’s faith. He already knew what he was going to do (MSG).

Once our faith has been stretched, it cannot be restored to its former state. There was plenty leftover from the feeding. The disciples collected the remains, which filled twelve baskets. He taught. He also worked miracles. We’ll keep learning. We must continue to focus on giving full expression to the demonstration and revelation of God’s power, even while teaching God’s word.

Matthew 14:13-21  When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

He said, Bring them hither to me.

And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.

And those that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children (KJV).

We must be cognizant of it and understand its potency. In that environment where God’s word is taught, we must progress to the point where God’s power may be conveyed and made available.

It isn’t just revelation. We should not be carried away with the depth and revelation alone. We must concentrate on the force in that atmosphere. This is seen in the body’s healing, needs being met, and direction being received.

We may not have placed as much focus on the circumstances of that occurrence. Luke described it as a teaching assembly in which God’s power was there to heal.

There may be needs in various aspects of our lives. As we teach and labor in the word, we must recognize that if we mortal men can express dimensions of truth in His word, He can allow power to flow. ‎ Truth and power are communicated simultaneously‎.

We must resolve that whatever service we find ourselves in is not a casual service.

Our dress code should never undermine the power of the service. We dress casually for some meetings, such as Bible study, but that does not mean they should be informal. Our approach to a service has a psychological way of watering down our sessions, which are genuinely no less vital than other meetings.

No gathering of the believers is less anointed. If you approach any meeting with less priority it reflects your intentionality and deliberateness in arriving at mount zion.

Every meeting and every opportunity to meet with the Lord has the capacity to deliver power and the timeless truth of God’s word. Those deep seated revelations that will sustain us for years.

More crucially, it can target your weaknesses. You cannot be linked with God while consistently failing to meet certain norms. Our father wants the best for us, too.

The apostles, did not abandon the ministry of prayer and the word, but instead entrusted table service to others. God desires to be involved in the smallest details of your life. God’s healing power was present when Jesus taught
