As a believer in Christ, the same way we believe that we are saved should be the same way we should believe that we are healed. The same way we confess our salvation is the same way we should confess our healing.
Healing is having a kind of process that slows down age and death. Moses’ eyes were not dim, he was advanced in age. These are our heritage, our testimony as children of God. Christ died for us and he took away sickness. So as a believer, we should always stand against it..
We obtain victory through our lord Jesus Christ not our effort. Christ also always leads us to triumph, he is always at the battle front. God has never left his children to face the battle of life alone, he always lead us. 1 Corinthians 15:57, 2 Corinthians 2:14.
Matthew 28:18 NKJV ”And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
As children of God, all authority has been given to us, not some, not few, all. Luke 10:19
Jesus is saying in the scriptures that we have power to thread on serpents and scorpions. There are spiritual scorpions. God has given us power over all. Believers should not be afflicted. We are at an advantage because we are on the Lord’s side. That’s who we are. If believers do not know their identity, they will suffer. He gave us the authority. Nothing shall by any means hurt us. We are to resist the power of darkness because we have the authority over them.
The name of Jesus is a surest weapon for the believer. The name of Jesus is a strong tower, the righteous runneth into it and they are saved from satanic attacks and harassment. Even Jesus recognizes that there are powers of darkness.
(Luke 22:53) In Ephesians the word of God admonishes us to put on the whole armour of God.
That is what we need to ward off the enemy. If you are weak you will be caught by the enemy. The word of God is our anchor. Believers should be strong in the Lord. Our strength is in Calvary and in the name of the Lord. We enjoy safety in Christ.
God did not promise us a soft and free life, but he promised to be with us. We must learn the word of God anytime.
The shield of faith. Let your faith be your shield . You respond with the shield of faith. When the devil shoots its fiery dart, it will not hit you.
When you do not have the sword, go and sell what you’ve got to buy it. The sword of the Spirit is the word of God. The gospel we preach is the whole armour of God. If you are called for evangelism and did not appear, you are opening yourself to the trap of the devil.
This is because it is valuable. It is an eternal thing.
We must always be prayerful. We cannot be prayerful and the devil is coming against us. We must pray in all manner of prayers and supplications. This is the mindset of a victorious man.
There are three things for us to know if we are to live a victorious life.
We must realize and understand the power of our identity in Christ.
Ephesians 1:21, Colossians 2:14, Colossians 1:6
We are raised together. We are Jesus’ abode. It is just like the warning the military gives -“keep off. Military zone. “We are in Christ’s zone. This is where God does everything good. If there are contrary words spoken to us, they have been nailed to the cross. This is why they cannot come to us.
Secondly, we must free ourselves from the burden of the past. There are things we are built with. They have become our experience. Our DNA got changed when we gave ourselves to Jesus Christ. We have a new family and identity.
Thirdly, stand against the spiritual forces of this world.
Fourthly, our mind is a battle ground. Our heart is very important. It must be guarded with all diligence. If we lose the battle in our mind, the battle is lost already. We must feed our minds with things that are edifying. This is why we must control the words we hear. They do not edify us. We must listen to the word of God.
When we listen to the word of God we get edified. The battle is Lord’s. We should guard our minds. If it requires praying, studying the word, listening to songs that sings of God’s faithfulness.
Lastly,Bring out a catalogue of God’s faithfulness. When David met Goliath, he told him that his God helped him to face bear and lion and he was able to conquer. This was David speaking of God’s faithfulness. That’s a way to win battles. He was proving that God has fought for him before.
Whenever we are faced with life or even sickness we should learn speak God’s word. Declaring what his word is. Acknowledging that his name has to be glorified.
Be zealous for God
1 Peter 3:114… if ye are followers of me.
Isaiah 54:17
There is no weapon formed against the elect. Such a reality is preserved for those in Christ. The weapons will come but it will not succeed. Sickness, downtimes and so on are weapons against believers but we will be preserved.
Numbers 23:23
Whatever is said against God’s elect can not prevail because we have a better heritage in Christ. We should learn to take God’s word back to him in the place of prayer. It’s the weapon we have.
