Our Focus is instrument for divine direction. Things that God uses over time in scripture and in our experiences and also our walk with the lord. We have three major areas where a believer can be led in the concept of birthing divine direction.
The three major areas include Prayer, the word of God and godly Counsel.
Psalms 119:105 NKJV “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
In this scripture, there are two things there; Feet and Path. Feet can also be replaced with step. And in our previous teaching, Pastor said if you miss a moment of divine direction, a season can be lost or compromised.
God is not just particular about you taking the right steps, but there is a path. So the lord ordering your steps and feets is to ensure that you don’t miss the path.
There is a pathway for your life. And when the word of God is saturated in your heart, the likelihood of missing your steps is limited but when you are not given to the word of God, there is also a high chance of you missing your steps and once your steps are missed, then there is a very high tendency of missing the path.
Steps looks like small choices or decisions, and if those small choices/decision are taken in the right way, there is a guarantee that you will not miss your Path.
So we can say, the feet precede the Path. We should take chances on little choices or decisions because it sometimes determines the direction of our life. That means God is highly committed and interested in our steps/feet because he doesn’t want us to miss our Path.
God is mindful of the small decision that doesn’t look like it. Ultimately, these decisions or choices determine the direction of our life, determine our experience on this side of eternity, it determines how far we will go.
We are dealing with the Word of God before counselling and prayer because we don’t do anything different in the place of prayer than walking and using the word of God. We use the word of God as our tools in the place of prayer.
It is the word of God that guides, and we took our choices and decisions to the place of prayer. But if those choices and decisions has been shaped by the word of God, then it makes sense. So we don’t joke or despise the word of God.
We don’t pay less attention to the word of God, the more we are grounded and familiar with the word of God, it purifies our decisions.
The word of God filters our choices. Our appetite and taste buds are shaped by the word of God. And all these are well shaped, it brings us to a place where we are aligned.
Sometimes our choices and decisions are based on our perceptions, thoughts and patterns of reasoning.
Everyone is born but not everyone is recreated in Christ. Everyone is created but not everyone has experienced re-creation. Re-creation brings our assignment and calling to us.
Choices may look small, but sometimes they are heavy. They determine the rest of our lives. Decisions create our path. There is the path.
Seeking godly counsel can also provide divine direction, guiding us in our decisions.
Proverbs 15:22. It is possible to be counseled wrongly. You can be counseled out of the will of God. Before you go for counseling you should be grounded in the will of God, because every counsel should find its root in the word of God. Counseling should be confirmation of what you have heard.
There are things we will mature with and archive. That prayer will have its effect in time to come. That is why when we come to pray, we are not praying empty.
We come with the word of God. We come with counsel. We come to the one that knows what we want to do. The Spirit of God is hovering. The Spirit of knowing comes because you have prayed as well as the calmness that comes with it. Pictures are painted. You are at peace with that decision. You do not have to explain it.
You do not fully understand it. You know the basic things you just have to do. You must be armed with the word of God.
It is a safety and counsel especially when you are led. You can sit down with me when you are in the conversation and your mind is opened to such counsel.
Things are beginning to form in our hearts. When we come to the place of prayer with the word of God with counsel, there is little here and there.
That is how it is. All of these are coordinated by the Spirit of God. We take off our smartness and we derobe ourselves and empty ourselves.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Thou art my feet oh Lord. We come to say yes Lord (KJV).
Sometimes we do not know what to pray and what to ask for. Because of our human understanding we cannot lean on our own wisdom. It is very foolish. It is for our safety. It is the assurance of our life. You must come to know that he cannot mismanage your life. He knows what he is doing with your life. Without any other miracle happening in your lives we must be rest assured that we are secured in Him.
That’s the place we should get to. It is a place in God. God cannot mismanage my life. He is never weary. He does not sleep and slumber. He will not let me fall. We are saved with the everlasting hand.
The devil wants you to be anxious. This you will know when you pray and your mind is everywhere. The devil is happy that he has given you a job and your mind wanders off from God. This is why it is a big deal when God brings us to the place of stability.
It is a big deal. This happens when the dialogue happens between the Father and us. We know the Father has our interest. It is so funny when some people pray and do that as if they are fighting with the Lord. Jacob is not our template as being culled from the scripture. That is not our identity. God has a lot to deal with such a man. There is nothing to wrestle with us. He has won.
We are not struggling on anything with him. We must surrender to His will. We are servants of the Lord. We are without opinion before the Lord.
I came to surrender to his will. I am a captive of the Lord. I am a bond servant, my opinion does not matter. We are not asking for how it would be. We are those that believe that all things are possible. There are possibilities around us. We birth possibilities. With God all things are possible. Before we come to the place of prayer we should birth divine Direction. The word of God is directly from God.
