Philippians 4:4-7 KJV “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
The peace of God is possible. It is a possibility for you to have the peace of God in your life.
Isaiah 26:3 KJV “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
Our focus is Peace of God NOT Peace with God. Peace with God is what we got by salvation. It is what Jesus brought for us. Peace with God is a gift that came by the virtue of what Jesus has done for us on the cross of Calvary. But Peace of God is not the same as peace with God.
A man might have received Peace with God and he may not be experiencing the Peace of God in a particular season of his life. Peace with God is the ultimate and everybody must have it. Another thing we should understand is that our peace with God cannot be tampered with, but the Peace of God in a life can be tampered with. Seasons and situations can tamper with your peace but there is a possibility in God. It is God’s possibility that at every season of life you can have the peace of God.
The Peace of God is a possibility. You can have the Peace of God regardless of whatever you are going through. There is a possibility for you to be having joyous celebrations in every season of your life. With man, it may be impossible but not with God; for with God, in different seasons of your life, you can still be cheerful with joyous celebration. This is one way for you to live a consistent life.
There are unique things about the peace of God.
1) It’s a supernatural atmosphere in the life of the believer.
We live in two atmospheres, the supernatural atmosphere and the natural atmosphere but if a man has the peace of God, regardless of whatever situation he finds himself in, automatically that man is under the supernatural atmosphere.
You determine the atmosphere around your life. You determine the atmosphere that controls your life and seasons. One of the atmospheres you can operate or live in, is the peace of God. So the peace of God becomes your atmosphere. Two believers may be going through the same situation but operating under different atmospheres. He might have peace with God but not understand the peace of God.
The peace of God is a habitat, a supernatural atmosphere. The atmosphere you operate or live in per time determines how you will function. Whether you will come out of that season or not is determined by the atmosphere.
It’s not all believers that operate in the peace of God at per time. The peace of God is a function of knowledge and travailing. We may face challenging situations but we don’t live in the natural world. We know how to switch atmospheres.
2) The peace of God is a weapon for warfare. Battles of life will rage but once a believer can lay hold on the peace of God, it’s a weapon for warfare.
3) The peace of God is for stability
4) The peace of God is for our calmness in the midst of the storm. It’s like the peace that Jesus had on the sea when the storm was raging.
The peace of God is our resting place from the turmoil. It’s easy to lose your peace when you see others doing better than you, but we are admonished to rejoice always.
It’s only God that can silence your fears. He has pulled you away from the things that are calling your attention. You have to come to a place where you say, “God, even when I can’t trace you, I will trust you. We have gotten to a place where God assures us that he can’t joke with our lives. He has promised to keep us in perfect peace and not partial peace while our minds stay on him.
A man who has come into the supernatural habitat is never perturbed, nothing worries or tamper with his peace because his trust in his God. Come to think of it, how will a man not be disturbed about his life?
Philippians 4:6-7
Life generally can pull a man in different directions. Many have abandoned ministry and taken off. Life happened to them and they lost out of the plan and the purpose of God. Many have mastered the art of staying afloat when faced with crisis. Most of them bleed while they lead. The only way out is the peace of God.. That’s the prescription for all.
Philippians 4:6-7 (TPT)
There is a peace of God that transcends human understanding such that you begin to ask if the person even reflects at all. When life comes at you, just speak the word of God over the situation, declaring all that the Lord has made available for you. Many have enjoyed God’s hands through the thick, and the only way to survive such times is that you stand victoriously having God’s peace. That you are calm about some things doesn’t mean you have resigned to fate, but that while you are waiting you are engaging in cheerful celebration. Peter did the same thing he had seen his master do. He was to be executed the next day but he didn’t mind and he went ahead to sleep. He has built an atmosphere of peace. That’s a supernatural atmosphere.
The instructions from scriptures about our peace doesn’t water down our daily needs as less important. Mathew 6: 23 -33
If there is one area we should experience the peace of God is in the place of need. The scripture is not silent about our daily needs. Worrying doesn’t add anything to your life. It steals your joy. Which of you by worry can add one cubit to his stature? Your worry can give you subtraction. There cannot be any addition.
This is why you have a sleepless night. Worry never adds anything. It is a stealer of joy. Sometimes you may not even know what to eat and wear. You may even have what to eat but you are worried about the frequency of how you are eating it. The scripture has a place for your concern. It does not want us to worry about them. However, it does not make us to trivialize those things as if they do not exist.
If Solomon could be so arrayed in his time, the scripture made mention of the fact that the lilies are more arrayed than him. This should bring us to a place of peace. If you think you need clothing to put on, he knows you need more than that. Jesus was not talking about salary when He said, “O ye of little faith.”
Many of us are too organized that we don’t believe in God for the supernatural in our finances. The reason why we have not been giving is because we think they are very rich. If you have anyone that has been blessing you always put on your thinking cap to bless them. God is much more mindful of me than I am mindful of myself.
Matthew 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things (KJV).
Our peace should come from the truth that Gentiles seek after those things but for us, our Father knows. Gentiles look for money. They do not come to church on Sunday.
Those needs that are hidden to people are open to God. He knows. The Bible says unto Him that is able to do abundantly all that we ask or think. So, whenever we think He knows. When we think about what we should have, He stirs the heart of someone to give us.
Ephesians 3:20
You are only thinking about what you need and it is being ministered to because your father knows. Oh ye of little faith is what we have down in Matthew 6:30, it wasn’t talking about money. If everything you have ever done in your life is achieved through co-operatives, that you become mindful of your finances calculating when an occasion to give comes up. While you are not careless about your finances, can you give room to the supernatural assured that God is mindful of you?
Our father knows and he sees, therefore, keep your peace. While the gentiles seek your father knows that you have need of those things. You may see some people acting complacent but the truth is they are at peace.
There are several people who have enjoyed gifts they didn’t ask for. They enjoyed supports, financial aid they didn’t see coming. They are sure that their father sees and knows, so he’d show up for you. Be assured that your father knows and he sees.
