Acts 1:8
[8] But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
In reference to the above scripture, the power hasn’t come but now the Holy Ghost is here so power is here. “… How God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power which is the power.
Believers have the Holy Ghost so they have power. The Holy Ghost have not just come upon us, the Holy Ghost is with us. When the Holy Ghost comes upon a man and is within a man, the man carries power. From the above scripture, we can draw an understanding that when the Holy Ghost is upon a man there are evidences. Nobody is born again without the Holy Ghost, nobody has the Holy Ghost and doesn’t have power.
The number one evidence of the power of God in a believer is:
UNWAVERING ZEAL– Psalms 110:3
The day of power is here because the Holy Ghost lives on our inside. One evidence that you will be assured of man that is conscious of the power of God in him is that he will be restless for God. He will be willing and zealous. The Holy Ghost lives on our inside, power lives on our inside and if power lives on our inside, it will make you willing. When you see unwillingness in the life of a man then it’s questionable.
One of the attributes of the man that is born again is the Holy Ghost on his inside, power on his inside and he is zealous on the things of God.
Psalms 69:9
For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; And the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
John 2:17
And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
The disciples referred to this scripture when they saw Jesus in action, He demonstrated passion, willingness and zeal. The disciples remembered that it was prophesied that the zeal of thy house has eaten him up.
You can not be born again without the spirit of the Holy Ghost and you can not carry the Holy Ghost on your inside and say there is no power. You can’t carry power and fold your hands.
This is the day of His power because the Holy Ghost is here!
We cannot be born again without the Spirit of the living God. We cannot have the Holy Ghost inside of us and say there is no power.
We cannot say we have power and we fold our legs.
One of the evidence of the power of God in the life of a believer is not being pushed by another person. We carry the Holy Ghost and we know the Holy Ghost on the inside represents the power of God. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of Christ. He is the power of God.
Unwillingness does not represent what we carry. It is not a good representation of what we have on the inside. The power of God on the inside is not for decoration. Jesus went about doing God. He was zealous.
Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (KJV).
The evidence of the power of God is that there is willingness and zeal for the house of God. We are consumed of His zeal.
It is written that the zeal of thy house has consumed me. Jesus was passionate for the kingdom. In John chapter 4, when the woman was with Jesus by Jacob’s well. Jesus was consumed with the will of God despite being tired. The reason we have not being manifesting the power of God is because we have not been placing demand on it.
When the disciple came back in getting Jesus food, they met Him talking to the woman by the well.
John 4:30-34 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
In the meanwhile his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work (KJV).
We do not need too much encouragement to fulfil the will of God. Our strength is from the Holy Ghost. As a man that the power of God is resident on the inside.
One of the evidence that the power of the Holy Ghost is living and active in us is that
we are RESTLESS.
Jesus was constantly on the go with the Father’s work. There is willingness. He was constantly passionate and consistent. Even as a young man that was being found in the temple, He sat down with the elders and the pharisees. He was telling them, He must be about His Father’s business. He was active in and out of season.
Luke 2:46-50 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? Behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?
And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them (KJV).
The power of God in the life of the believer is zeal. Paul will speak in his epistles to be actively zealous with knowledge in and out of season.
2 Timothy 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry (KJV).
It is a gathered momentum. A man should be desirous to see the will of the Father in and out of the season; a man that is passionate and eager to see God come through him.The only way to do that is to be consistent. In both the high and low moments, be willing to go.
Why are taking things too easy? Why are we at rest? If we definitely have the power of God on the inside of us we should not be without zeal. Once the power of God is on your inside, the world needs to see the evidence. The evidence is that you become zealous for the house of God.
Titus 2:14 reveals that God wants to raise a special squad for himself and the criterion to be a part of this squad is zealousness and passion for the house of God.
God is enlisting his army. Just like the military has special squads trained for different purposes, so also is God’s army. We have a commanding officer so we have to behave gallantly. God only uses men that are willing. You can only remain willing constantly, by the power of God that dwells in your.
In 2 Corinthians 9:2, scripture reveals that some people were able to influence and ignite others through their zeal for God’s kingdom. Anywhere you find yourself, you need to either be a fire extinguisher or a fire igniter. We have received power after the spirit came up on us.
We got the spirit of God in us.The spirit of God does not leave us. We are carriers of the power of God. We are to witness the power of God in all places. Necessity is laid on us, that is why we are zealous and restless. We are in the era of his power, so we cannot keep quiet. We are compelled to do his work.
Acts 4:29-31
The disciples were harassed for preaching and they were asked not to preach in the name of the Lord anymore. We are not encountering any of these in our days and locality. We don’t go about in fear of being arrested when we preach.
SUPERNATURAL BOLDNESS
No one can claim to be a believer, a child of God, saved and he is fearful. If there is such, tell that man that he has not received the spirit of fear but boldness.
For the righteous are as bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1
When the spirit of God is at work, supernatural boldness becomes the order of the day. At this point the disciples have received the holy Ghost which made them speak the word of God with boldness. This is evidence of power.
We should strive to make heaven proud of us. We should allow heaven to brag about our willingness and readiness. We should be consumed by the zeal of the Lord. No slothfulness and weariness.
