Our Father Knows And Cares

Matthew 6:5-8 KJV

 “And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut the door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”

Human nature often seeks showmanship in prayer. In our generation, we see this practice widely embraced. An average person will set up a ring light while praying, or travel to a mountain top with a camera crew, almost as if they need an angel or a lens to record their prayer session for public view. But Scripture clearly warns against praying in public corners merely to be seen by men, declaring that such individuals already have their full reward.

Instead, Jesus instructs us: “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut the door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly”.

Look carefully at verse eight: “Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him”.

This passage reveals a fundamental principle: prayer is not what comes first; the Father’s knowing precedes our prayer.

Even before I open my mouth to express a request, I have a Father who already knows what I need. Religion often subtly traps people into trusting in prayer more than they trust in God Himself, But the Father’s prior knowledge comes before my petition.

Prayer must be understood as a communion and a filial conversation between a Father and His child. The frantic way many people pray does not convey that they are speaking to a loving Father. They approach God as though He is distant or unapproachable, believing they must “provoke” Him or forcibly move His hand.

We frequently take a single biblical event such as Jacob wrestling with the angel and misapply it to claim that prayer is an aggressive, exhausting struggle (Ijakadi) to extract blessings from God. Genesis 32:26 KJV

We must not construct our entire understanding of prayer around the idea of wrestling with God. Jesus operated with a completely different model, one of resting in the Father’s love, saying, “Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me”.

Furthermore, many individuals project their negative experiences with earthly fathers onto God. Some grew up with irresponsible or harsh fathers whom they had to manipulate, lie to, or corner just to receive basic financial support, But you must never approach God with that damaged mindset.

Prayer is not meant to force the hand of God open, It requires a sound, functional understanding of who you are praying to: “I am praying to my Father”.

Matthew 6:25-32 KJV

 “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Notice how the Scripture returns to that reassuring anchor: “For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things”.

We need a deeply rooted, functional knowledge of the Fatherhood of God. This must not remain mere intellectual theory; it must be an operational reality in your daily walk, allowing you to say with unwavering conviction: “God is my Father”.

Jesus secured this relationship for us. Following His resurrection, He declared this eternal relationship to Mary.

John 20:17 KJV

 “Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.”

If natural human parents, despite their flaws, know how to give good gifts to their children, how much more will your Heavenly Father bestow good things upon those who ask Him?

Matthew 7:9-11 KJV

 “Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”

Because God is your Father, your posture in prayer should never be characterized by terror, screaming, or trying to shake a sleeping deity awake. Instead, it should be marked by holy confidence and bold access. Hebrews 4:16 KJV

The ultimate proof of God’s love and care is not material provision, It is not what you wear, what you eat, or what you drink. While your earthly needs and worries are entirely valid, material items do not constitute the primary measure of the Father’s affection. The ultimate demonstration of God’s love and care is the Person of Jesus Christ.

John 3:16, Romans 5:8

God’s love was made tangible in Christ.

Consider these four undeniable pillars of divine care:

• The Cross: Whenever you look at the Cross, it speaks one eternal truth: “You are deeply loved by your Father”.

• The Empty Tomb: The empty tomb proclaims that your Father possesses absolute authority over your greatest enemy.

Your primary enemy is not a hostile relative or a village neighbor; your true adversary has been completely defeated.

• The Resurrection: The Resurrection guarantees that your life’s story does not end in death or defeat.

• The Holy Ghost: The indwelling Spirit stands as living proof that you are never abandoned or left alone.

Hebrews 13:5 KJV

 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

Since God has already delivered His Son on the Cross, demonstrated His power through the Resurrection, and placed His Holy Spirit within us, daily provisions present no difficulty for Him.

He knows the state of your wardrobe, He sees the contents of your kitchen cupboard, and He knows when you cooked your last pot of rice, He even sees when a family lacks clean drinking water or views a simple soft drink as a luxury.

If He has given you the greatest possible gift—His Son, then lesser material needs cannot be an obstacle.

Let this truth settle in your spirit: He has given me the best, so the rest cannot be an issue!

A temporary lack of fine clothing is just a passing season. What you are going through right now will not last forever, Stop engaging in pretense or putting on a facade of self-sufficiency.

Do not pretend that you are fine while crying in secret when you are alone, Your Father already knows every need you have, Rest in His peace and confidence, you have already received God’s unspeakable gift in Christ Jesus.

Your Father is fully aware of what you lack, but we must learn to trust His wisdom, timing, and sovereign judgment. He sees the end from the beginning.

Frequently, what appears to be a frustrating delay is actually God protecting and preserving you from unseen danger.

Even when you cannot trace His hand, you can always trust His heart.

Psalm 145:16 KJV

 “Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.”

While Scripture confirms that God opens His hand to satisfy the desires of all living creatures, I have chosen to trust His heart above His hand. His heart is perpetually focused on my ultimate good.

Furthermore, we must reject the erroneous idea that believers can manipulate or “provoke” God through financial seeds or legalistic bargaining. You cannot force God’s hand with money; God was permanently satisfied through the redemptive travail of His Son.

Isaiah 53:11 KJV

Jesus’ finished work satisfied the Father completely, We simply rest upon and ride in the victory of His sacrifice.

We must also exercise deep empathy toward others facing trials. People often walk through heavy, hidden burdens; they need our sensitivity and compassion, not unhelpful religious formulas.

Your Father is fully attentive to every dimension of your life, whether it involves your career, business, finances, housing, or physical health.

Never permit the enemy to convince you that God is ignorant of your situation or that He has abandoned you. Consider the story of Gideon in the Book of Judges.

Judges 6:12-13 KJV

 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites

Gideon was threshing wheat in secret to hide it from the Midianites when the angel addressed him as a “mighty man of valour”. Gideon questioned why hardship was happening if the Lord was truly with them.

When immediate circumstances press hard upon us, we often confuse momentary trial with divine abandonment. God often speaks of the grand future He has planned for you even while you are wondering how to meet an immediate survival need.

Under God’s guidance, every transition in your life is leading you into a superior experience, Your entire life is engraved upon the palm of His hand.

He knows your deadlines, your thoughts, your worries, and your future. Stand firm in faith. In conclusion, Trust His heart, rest in His care, and anchor your soul in this eternal truth: Your Heavenly Father knows, and He deeply car
