CONFIDENTLY WALKING IN THE NEW WAY

Hebrews 10:19-20, Colossians 2:5-7

The instruction that comes to you is that whatsoever you have been taught, you should continue in it.

Emphasis is in what you have been taught, it is  expected to abound in it with thanksgiving.

It may not flow to the realms of thanksgiving if you do not abound in it.

Colossians 2:5-7 (TPT)

All we have received and have been taught will not amount to anything till we maximise it., till we express it in all aspects we can.  We haven’t come to learn the truth if we can’t apply it.

It’s not sufficient when you hear the word of the Lord and it’s not being applied. There’s an instruction from the scriptures, that you have received Christ, so walk in him. As you’re being taught, keep abounding in him.

The word of the Lord revealed clearly that there’s an old way but it was unprofitable and  was abolished to establish the new way. The new way is Christ and all the Father has done for us in Christ. It should be what we understand and it becomes a functional revelation.

Our weapons of warfare are not physical. It’s the shield of faith, the sword of the Spirit. Until the word of the Lord you’re hearing, until the revelation you have received and you’re receiving in Christ, through Christ becomes something you’re handling as a sword to quench the fiery darts, that’s when learning has taken place. The sword becomes handy in the day of battle.

You’re not yet conscious of what you have received until you start walking in it. You should walk in the things you’ve been taught, walk in what you’ve come to know and understand, be abounding in it. That’s when you can actually come to a point where thanksgiving will proceed out of you. You come to the reality of the word of God.

When you pray out of fear, it shows you’re not abounding in what you’ve been taught. It’s more important to be abounding in what you’re been taught.

Duration doesn’t translate to a man being rooted. You’re abounding in what you’ve received when you’re rooted and established in Faith.

Be conscious of what the Lord has exposed you to. The transformation is not in gathering, the transformation is in your beholding. As you behold, you become.  We become by beholding what we have received, what we’re being taught. Stay focused on it consistently, walking in the truth until it becomes a shield of faith, sword of the Spirit and helmet of salvation in your hands.

‘Helmet of salvation’ is not a spiritual cap as it were, it is knowledge, a deep understanding of what is made available to you by salvation.

Breastplates of righteousness are not sold. It’s not ministry material. They are not produced by churches or ministries. The breastplate of righteousness is you submitting to God’s righteousness, not trying to establish your righteousness. As you come to that point, you are wearing the breastplate of righteousness.

The day you understand righteousness properly is the day you wear a breastplate of righteousness. The day you understand salvation, is the day you wear a helmet of salvation. The day you understand all the Father has done in Christ, his power, his privileges, his benefits and what he has made you to be in Christ, you carry the shield of Faith, you carry in your hand the sword of the Spirit.

In our journey of faith, the goal is to be properly taught and walk in the full reality of what we have received in Christ, and become fully kitted. It’s called the whole armor of God.

This explains why you are able to have the right word or scripture at a particular season in your life. The sword which represents the word of God is made available to you at that point. The ability to grow to that point is largely your responsibility. I can’t put the sword in your hand, but I can put the word in your heart. It’s not about the title but walking in the understanding of what you are being taught.

2 John 1:4

Stay focused on the truth and walk in the truth. Be consistent on the truth of God’s word. We ought to live out our understanding of God’s word.

In matters arising in any area of our lives, we don’t talk from a place of emotions but from the richness of the word of God we have on our inside.

What you hear determines the spirit operating around you. If you are always around people with negative prophecy or wrong teaching, it will create fear and anxiety in you.

Consistently as you expose yourself to such teachings, overtime fear grips your heart.

What is the essence of the truth that your head cannot carry a helmet?

What is the essence of the truth that your chest cannot be protected by the breastplate of righteousness?

What is the essence of the truth that you don’t have the shield of faith?

What is the essence of the word of God you have been hearing and it can’t produce a sword in your hand?

Let’s walk in what we have received. Col 2:6 says “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him”.

He told us how we will walk. We will walk to the point that we will be rooted and established in the faith so that we will not be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine.

2 Corinthians 4:1 NKJV

“Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart.”

2 Corinthians 3:6 says we are able ministers of the new covenant. Able ministers are not talking about pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophet and the likes. It talks about believers.

Anyone reading moses or focusing on the law cannot be referred to as able ministers because able ministers are ministers of the new covenant.

We have turned to the lord and the veil is torn so a new and a living way has been opened to us.

2 Corinthians 4:2 NKJV “But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.”

When men found the truth, there are things that they renounced. You cannot continue to be dishonest with the word of God. You cannot continue to be inconsistent with the truth you have received.

When a believer is mishandling the word of God, it is dishonesty.

You will stand before Jesus to give account of how you handled the word of God. This is because you have been taught and the truth has been exposed to you. It is expected that you are built up, established and not being tossed to and fro by the wind of doctrine.

That you give an account will be because you have been taught.

The emphasis in the new testament is that he is our father, we are accepted as sons.

This makes us step out confidently. We will not go back to the craftiness of the old. Where we exchange material things to strengthen our faith.

In the new testament fasting isn’t the way. And when we fast, we fast with an understanding.

Knowing that Christ is the living way, other ways are dead. This is what we will confidently walk in. We do not just learn, we walk. We abide in our walk with God. Learning preceded walking. We don’t stop at learning!
